Southland Hispanic Leadership Council (SHLC) has evolved over the years as a service agency working to serve the Hispanic community. Nueva Vista, the working board for Grand Prairie Service's Hispanic grant program, was the catalyst on forming the council. Nueva Vista's funding was cut and there was a need to bring together local agencies as Board members to combine limited resources and energies to service the Hispanic community.

Our Mission
To promote a network of organizations, agencies, institutions, businesses and community
residents working to optimize the well being of the Hispanic population in the Southland region.

Our Objectives
To gather information about concerns relevant to the well-being of the Hispanic community.

To educate and promote these social services within the Hispanic community.

To serve as the language translator and liaison between the Hispanic community and social service agencies.

To coordinate efforts among agencies, community groups, and institutions to target the Hispanic community.
